Breaking up the tablets may sound like a good idea, but it leaves you with uneven doses, which could be problematic.
It's easiest to dissolve the entire tablet into a gallon jug of treated water and measure out the amount you need from that.
With the second method it would be 10 gallons treated/ 1 gallon jug. You'd want to use 4 cups of the medicated water in combination with regular treated water.
Remember to take the carbon out of any filter you'll be using with medication.
Ugh I read on another forum that it would be okay to dose by breaking it up. When I do the 25% change and re-dose I'll do it that way. That makes more sense anyways.
He might be refusing because the medication makes him feel lousy or he is feeling lousy form being sick. Just keep an eye on him and offer food regularly.
