I know this is a stupid question but bear with me.
Do you think Bettas sleep @ Night?
I know they sleep with their eyes open & stuff
Like I said, Stupid question.
Oh yeah and im sure you knew this but i had to share this:
Did you know that Bettas can't hear you, they only sense vibration?
(thats why they're soo sensitive to small bumps)
stupid Fact; Sorry
Bettas do get less active at night and sleep in short spurts throughout the night and day. Since they have to go the surface for air they don't actually sleep through the night.
Bettas breathe with gills as well making it possible for them to sleep undisturbed for a good while. Also when the fish is in 'resting state' it requires less oxygen.
Man do I ever feel bad when I come home from work late and turn my lamp on for 30 minutes while I get ready for bed... just as the fish start to wake up I am clicking the light off and crawling in bed
One of my fish that died of dropsy would sleep so deeply that tapping on the tank wouldn't do anything. I'd have to literally shake the tank because I thought he was dead. Than he'd give me a grumpy look like "HELLO!! I'M SLEEPING!!"lol
Yeah Haze will do that too, he'll sleep so deep that I'll shake the dresser that the tank sits on to make sure he isn't dead. I'm sure he doesn't appreciate it though!
My fish was sleepy so soundly that we thought he was dead my mom even had a the net ready to flush him but then right as she was about to scoop him up he freaked and swam away! Lols!
