i now hav a new male betta fish and i would like to breed him. i need to know the things i need and the safest way to breed betta fish. PLEASE if you do know something tell me! me and sifu (betta) need to know.
is this your first betta fish? you have to master betta keeping before you even start to think about breeding. it is a complicated process that requires a TON of research. its not as simple as placing male a female together and whatch them dance... one could easily end up killing the other.
You also have to have a breeding tank and conditions have to be right to breed your fish. You can't just throw them in a gallon bowl and let nature take its course.
So, to reiterate what Meatpuppet said, breeding bettas requires a lot of money, space, and time. I would only attempt it if you've had success at keeping bettas for a long time (several years) and if you can find a buyer for all of the baby bettas.
Do TONS of research, be prepared to spend money, and you need LOTS of space for up to hundreds of male fry to be kepts seperate and clean. i think its worth it, but its very complicated and you really need to know what your doing.
