there are small pieces laying on the gravel next to it what is he doing? is he sick? I started adding flourish excel & flourish iron a few days ago cuz my amazon sword was looking sickly. good looking new growth on the sword already but now this with my little green dude. are the flourish products messing with him? thank you
Mine periodically sheds, but the goldfish tend to pick at it a lot.
Another thing you want to consider: you're not going to see much improvement on your sword if you don't have the right lights. Dosing ferts without good lighting is just going to lead to algae outbreaks. Any particular reason are you dosing with Flourish Excel (CO2 supplement) and Flourish Iron?
That's what the owner of a well established LFS suggested for me. You mentioned lighting; I'm running at 2 wpg. 6500K bulb. Any suggestions? I'm prob gonna start a new thread about my sword.
Your lighting sounds good. Usually unless you have very hard water, you don't need Excel as it is a liquid CO2 supplement. Just Flourish Complete.
Moss balls are in fact a type of algae.
