This is one of my daughter's bettas, Optimus Prime (for obvious reasons). He is just a PetCo betta, but I honestly think he's an exceptionally pretty one. Is he considered a butterfly? You can't tell from my poor photography, but he has a clear black band at the edge of all his fins.
He's a faltered BT because the bands of color aren't all identical. His dorsal fin has a thicker band of blue than his tail, and his tail than his anal. But he is a BT
Pretty nice for a petco find!
No problem!
He was probably from a breeder trying to spawn show bettas. Some breeders just dump the faltered ones on pet stores for a quick few bucks. But I think the faltereds and muts are the cutest. More original and interesting.
Ah. It can be hard to tell from the pictures. The contrast on yours must be gorgeous in person! I'm suddenly loving the plakats, though I don't have any yet...
