Your pH is fine IMO/E, I would not touch it, it is safer for the fish and easier for you. Most fish have not been in their natural pH water and adjust to your pH without issues, those sudden changes can be deadly.
IMO/E long term aquarium salt is not needed and can be harmful to most species of fish and plants, it is a great product for short term treatments when used in the right dosage, otherwise, you can create resistant pathogens/parasites and cause internal/external damage to the fish themselves.
i am currently using the salts to help recoup. time for the fin rot. I am not using them at full strength however since its been more then 10 days. So i pre mix salts into a 1gal bottle and when i do partial (1/10) every day i add the salted water.
As for the PH u think its ok? This is a good thing as i am pretty intimidated with the liquid test kits and proper cycling of my tank. I am trying to avoid getting to complicated until i feel more comfortable with my new aquarium. So complete water changes once a week and partial changes daily.
The pH is as close to neutral as it's going to get. PH is a scale of 0 to 14. At 7 the water is perfectly neutral. The further the water goes below 7, the more acidic the water is, and the higher it gets, the more basic (bases are chemicals like ammonia)
Your water very close to perfect, but the aquarium salt is probably throwing it off. Once you stop using it, the pH get lower.
Do experiments if you're curious. One bucket of water, conditioned, and another with the same conditions, except with aquarium salt. But still, I wouldn't bother fixing ammonia unless you can actually get a PERMANENT buffer of some sort, and make sure the pH never changes (or very very, very little) from new water changes. But IMO, I don't want to deal with that, so I leave it.
I have aquaruim salt in mine all the time, I read somewhere that you can do that. I have a 2 gallon and change it twice a week. Besides the one fish that had too much salt in with him I haven;t noticed any problems.
