I'm trying to cycle my 10 gallon tank using the shrimp method + stress zyme. I'm having really mixed reviews from people and I'd like to settle it once and for all...am i disrupting the cycle, helping it along, etc? I'm unable to test the water at home, I plan to do weekly water tests at petco until the cycle is complete.

No idea bout Stress zyme. Here is a visual clue that you are close to cycling your tank. Assuming you have your light on 8plus hours a day, if you start noticing green algae growth then you know your tank is close to becoming fish safe. Algae rely on Nitrate as a nutrient, Nitrate is the final product produced in the Nitrification cycle....
