Last week I purchased some driftwood, anubias plants, moss, and 1 Nerite snail to add to Porcupine's lightly planted 10 gallon tank. He seemed to enjoy the new setup... But then he started eating less, got lethargic, and on Tuesday night I saw the white spots and jerky movements, and rubbing against the driftwood. Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels have all been spot on, and his tank is kept at 75 degrees.
This is my first fish illness and I don't know if I'm doing it right!!!
So I bought Kordons RidIch, and the LFS said to:
Remove live plants, snail, and my 1 ghost shrimp
Remove carbon from my filter
do a 30% water change
dose the RidIch once
... So I did all that yesterday.
After all signs of Ich go away, they said to put carbon back in filter to remove the RidIch, then replace the plants and snail/shrimp
But shouldn't I be doing water changes to help him heal? Do I re-dose the RidIch into the new water before I add it? And I raised his temp to 80, shouldn't I see the cysts falling off and some improvement in his behavior?
Help! I don't want to waste time if I am missing something??
