If you fill up a gallon jug with tap water, leave the cap off the jug and let it set out for three days. If you do that the chlorine that is normally in the tap water evaporates and leaves the minerals in the water.

Hope that helps any.

That makes me wonder as well... My CT was in a unfiltered 2 gallon bowl, which he was quite happy in, but I got tired of cleaning it so often since it was awkward to clean. So I bumped him up to a 3 gallon filtered tank, and I'm working on cycling it. I wonder if it will help uncurl his fins....? :/ Hmmm.

Also, in response to the post above: Yes, leaving tap water out allows chlorine to evaporate, but chloramine does NOT evaporate and stays in the water. This is still toxic to fish. I ALWAYS recommend using water conditioners, no matter what kind of water is used. You never really know what is all in the water.

thanks all. =)

I might be getting my boy a 5 gallon Fluval spec in the near future, maybe I will test out all of these ideas when I move him.
