I am testing it out on my new 5 gallon tank today. I just want to make sure I get the right temperature before I put my fish in it. I just plugged it in 10 minutes ago, and the water was at 68 degrees. I've noticed the pilot light keeps turning on and off in short intervals. It'll stay on for about half a minute, then go off for about 15 seconds. Is it supposed to do that?
I have another question about it now. I saw this white paper-like mesh stuff inside the glass wrapped around the bottom of the coil. Is that supposed to be there?
I just got my Elite heaters today and see the paper... what did u do with it? it doesn't say anywhere on the box what to do with it or if it is supposed to stay in there or be removed? All the pix i see of it don't have the paper... i'm confused!
I got the 50w Elite heater for my 10 gallon on Saturday, Elite heaters are pretty good so no worries.
