It's about the silk plants i bought this week-end, i bought them on friday night, i got busy on saterday so i could not soak them in hot water. But i soaked them on sunday morning, all day some of the dyie from them came off in the water.
What should i do with them...
is it safe for the fish...
That doesn't sound right to me. I only have four little silk betta plants but they didn't bleed when I soaked them.
Perhaps let them dry and soak again, and if they are still bleeding take them back?
Maybe the dye in the plants are like dye in clothes and once you dry it its set. (unless you bleach it!)
Did you get them at a pet store? Because they will know if that dye is toxic or not, or it should say somewhere on the package (hopefully).
I bought them at pet'smart,
when i first soaked them alot of the color came off then i changed the water and soaked again then a bit more came off. They spent the night in a drie bucket so i'll go and soak them again, see what happens.
Could it be i soak them in boiling hot water, could it be the hot water taking the color out...
Try normal like bath/shower hot water and see if thats it? At the max your tank water should only go up to 84 degrees F. So you could be right.
But less bleeding sounds like major improvements.
I don't see petsmart selling toxic plants for fish to put in your fish tank.
well i just started soaking them again, their in hot tap water, i put them in a bucket and turned on the hot water and let the bucket fill.
Hopefully that will be fine
