Can anyone tell if this is fin rot or if his fins are getting torn on something? Thinking about just taking out all plants to see if it gets better... Had been getting worse for about 4 days now.
It looks like his tail is catching on something. I am having the same issue with my Delta. You might want to get silk plants and do regular water changes to make sure his tail heals up with out any problems.
I'm thinking it could be that purple plant in the before picture. I would try removing that plant from his home. I had a similar plant in mine and it tore my betta's tail to pieces until I switched to silk plants. As long as he doesn't have white on the tips of his tail, he should be fine from fin rot. Just make sure his water temp is around 76-82 and that you keep his tank water clean to let his tail heal and not get infected.
Thanks! Yea I actually just took all his plants out to eliminate which one it is. He's probably a little mad about that, but he still has his cave that feels pretty smooth. His temp is at 80, and I don't see any white on the tips so that's comforting! Thanks!
No problem! His tail should grow back. I use vitachem to help with my Delta's tail, but I know other people use aquarium salt which helps regrow loss tails too. I'm not too sure of the dosage though.
