Well my betta has had some issues with fin rot, then the fin rot healed then came back now. He eats like a pig and is very active, but he sometimes swims on the bottom of the tank like hes looking for something, but today i was looking at his from fins and they seem to be a shinny color, and his bottom chin is like a silver color he has always had a discolored chin, but could it be velvet he is in a 10 gallon tank 78F and he is with 3 zebra danios and 4 neon tetra.

Some of my bettas have that, it's just their coloring. The ripped fins are probably caused by the fish attacking him. Do you have room to put him in his own tank? If they keep attacking and chasing him, he'll get very stressed out and he'll be more suseptable to getting sick.

Here's a link on Velvet that you can read, I've never dealt with it personally.

Hey Alien, maybe you should just start a new thread with pictures instead of hijacking other people's threads... :) Then we could all admire your fish without being annoyed.

BTW, Rocktrns: I think he is fine, but I'm pretty sure the other fish are picking on him. Then it turns into fin rot. Just get him is own tank and he'll heal right up.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
