I just noticed something for the past few days. Every time my female betta Rose flares up, you can see like 5 or 6 vertical stripes. Then it stays there for a while but it goes away (unless you study her very, very, closely.)
Look:

It's sort of hard to see the stripes in this one:

So what does this mean? Should I breed her right away? Or it is okay for her to wait? Plz answer asap. Thanks! :-D:-D:-D:shock::-D:-D:-D:-D

The vertical stripes dont always mean she wants to breed. It means shes in good condition. Most females stripe up when flaring.
When females flare at other females they show vertical stripes, also young females who are too young to breed show vertical stripes.

Your fish doesnt look full of eggs yet but after some conditioning that may vary well change and then you can breed her.
