Quirk or Concern?

I just noticed Honey bee swimming with his mouth out of the water with his back arched. Kind of like he's pretending to be a dolphin. Is this just something cute he does, or is it something to be concerned about?

Note: He's a petsmart rescue with what I believe to be ammonia poisoning.

Both of my males have a "hump" from their back to their head, so to speack, which is normal. If yours is only hanging out at the top of the water then there may not be enough oxygenation happening in the lower part of the tank. Now if he's just coming up periodically to gulp air, that is perfectly normal as Bettas need air, he should go to the surface bulp air & then continue swimming about.
