I want to ad some shrimps to my 5gal planted tank. I have plenty of hiding places for RCS but I think maybe I should buy one or two ghost shrimps first and see how my Gyarados reacts to them.
Or maybe instead of RCHs are there perhaps other shrimps spices the same size as ghosts that aren't so... boring?
Ghost shrimp are a safe bet because they only get to an inch long. Also, I don't think they are as aggressive as some other species of shrimp. I have 4 ghost shrimp in my 5.5 gallon and they are not boring at all! Each have their own personalities. One of them even swims up to greet me because she knows I have food. She will literally take food out of my hand. They are also incredibly smart. Good luck! And stay away from bamboo shrimp bc they can get way too big!
Amano's might be another choice. They are bigger without being too much and are really good cleaners. Agreed with the bamboo shrimp, not only do they get really big but there would be no way there would be enough food for them in a 5g
