I just got a gorgeous blue hm betta ;D Hes so pretty, and he seemed healthy. i had gone in the store looking for some medication, but i saw the bettas and awwww. hehe, ill take a pic of him. anyway, he was flaring everywhere, and i love him. But, i have 3 bettas right now, and 1 is in a 5gal, one in a vase, and im trying to dedcide where to put this guy. i would divide the 5gal, but its a bit sickly right now with a sick fish, and i dont want to risk it. So i would put him in a vase, and then make sure the 5gal is clean? would that be okay, do you think?
Well, if you don't have a spare tank or have the money to purchase one, then putting him in a vase will be fine as long as you keep up with the water changes.
Yea, i have the tank, but im worried the disease is still in there, even with the 2 25% water changes and the 60% one. i dont want him to get sick. but of course ill keep up with the water changes while hes in the vase
Yeah, that's the problem with divided tanks, if one fish gets sick, it can risk getting the others who live in the same tank sick as well. Alright, that seems fine. Do you plan on keeping him in the vase permanently, or will you place him in the 5 gallon divided when your other fish gets better?
Well, it depends what your betta specifically has. Most diseases are contagious though, so I really don't know what would be an adequate approach to introducing your new betta to the tank. I want to say you should really give it a really good scrub, but if it your tank is cycled, that will mess everything up....so, hopefully someone who has experience with divided tanks can give you some advice? sorry
