Hey everyone. I found this cool tank at a store nearby and at first it looked really bad with a big black frame that covered 30% of the tank up. It also had this water spotted blue background. After some fixing up and maybe a small cut or two here she is.
Display case Glass Table Rectangle Furniture

She is a 2.3 gallon thats 18" long 4" wide and weighs in at a depth of 9". I really dont have any idea what to stock or scape her with. I just thought the narrow length would be interesting. So please feel free to take a moment from you possibly busy day and imagine something wonderful for me to have : ) Ha Ha. Also, recommendations on filter and heater. Go Crazy!

You should get some plastic mesh and make the whole back side a moss wall and then do the rest a slightly npt, and ut like small little guppies or tetras or somehtings small in there lol. like a micro npt.

Ooh that would be one killer shrimp tank but that's just one thought...also maybe like a 2D aqua-scape? Thin pieces of wood so it looks like a landscape portrait like this?

I don't think upside-down tanks ^ ^ are a good idea for Bettas, as there is no open space for air at the top of the upside-down part. If your fishy didn't understand how to get back out, or was having swim bladder issues, it could suffocate. for non-anabantids though, great idea!

Looks like it would be a awesome nano NPT for shrimps. Maybe throw on a Marina Slim filter and a slim LED light fixture and you are set!

You could totally use it for upside down, you just leave 2 inches at the top for an air pocket! I, however am very much in favour of the moss wall carpet. Put some corkscrew vals & maybe some java ferns in there as well and you could have a very nice looking little aquascene.

I am honestly so grateful for your painting. I almost have tears in my eyes from laughing. Firstly at my illiterate spelling and secondly because I was just thinking how helpful everyone is with ideas. I thought it would just be too much to ask for some kind of diagram on how this should all look but you...MistersMom have done wonderfully haha thank you.

HARDEST THING I'VE EVER DONE. Not ever, but this was pretty hard. >.<

I took a floral design class in my first semester of college. Probably the best class I've had, seeing as I've gotten to arrange a lot of plant stuff as of late. So, with a long tank, a really cool thing to do is keep a big open area in the middle with some bulky center pieces, but at the edges you'll want to gradually lift the eye-line upwards with plants. Here's an example of what I mean by that. See how it gradually lifts? You can use the same plant, or different ones.

I've found that throwing in a complementary color for rocks usually helps bring out your betta's colors more and makes them more visually appealing (as if they aren't already, right?). Don't forget your floater plants!!!

Lol, thanks. I really liked your plant style, though! I couldn't get my paint to do that cool see-through look successfully. It kept making the background all dotted and funky. >.< That's what I was really wanting to do. :( I've never done a real paint art thing before, so that's my first one. o_o;
