I am rescuing a betta from a friend of mine and am on a very low budget. I'd like to get the 25W for a large kritter keeper if possible, but if it's a bad one then I'd rather not risk it. Has anyone purchased and used it before? If anyone else has a suggestion for a heater under $10 (including shipping) please do let me know!
I'd be a bit wary about a really cheap no-name heater. I remember a post here a while back from a guy who got a really bad shock from a cheap Ebay heater. If you're on a low budget, you could try Tetra heaters. I think I've seen them for about $12 for a 25 watt. They're not adjustable, but they keep the temperature nice and stable.
Figured they probably wouldn't be a great idea. I'll check around and see who had the cheapest tetra heater, I know a few different stores around here carry them. Thanks so much guys for your input!
