So I am going camping friday-monday and I have weekend feeders for the tropical fishs and I bought some betta 3-day weekend feeders. I wasn't sure if anyone else has used them, and if they have simply placed them in unfiltered tanks? 3 of my betta tanks do not have a filter and 1 has a filter. I feel bad if I leave my bettas without eating any food for 2-3 days. Any opinions would be much appreciated :-D
I'd honestly just not feed them for those 3 days. It'd not only be good for their digestive tract, but minimize the mess of uneaten food from weekend feeders.
Agreed-- weekend feeders will hurt your fish rather than help them... given enough time, the ammonia spike caused by those evil things could even kill your fish!
My dad uses those to feed his fish while we're gone for a long time, but if you don't have a filter they get REALLY messy.
