Can API Tap Water Conditioner be used Prime? Also the API Tap Water Conditioner doesn't mention anything about overdosing... reason i'm asking is because bottle says 1ml per 20gallons.. my largest tank is 12 gallons...
Well, I don't really want to mix conditioners.. but prime does not remove heavy metals. But at the same time, Prime removes ammonia and adds slime coat..
I live in NYC and thought our water was clean.... but i'm not so sure anymore..
Hmmmm - I thought Prime DOES remove heavy metals. Don't have my bottle handy, but will read it soon.
Per Drs. Foster & Smith site:
* Tap water conditioner removes chlorine and chloramine
* Detoxifies ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and heavy metals
* Safely condition water without a pH drop or overactivating protein skimmers
Interesting..., You're right..there is a slight mention of heavy metals.. well i've been using prime all this time...but have been having problems with fish dying... ph, nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, and temp were optimal but still had problems... I'm gonna use the Tap water conditioner for a while to compare...
Also.. if my fish still die on me.. I know to look for another possible reason...
