Hey guys. I purchased an amazon sword a few weeks ago and put it in my 10 gallon and 5 gallon tanks. I have the tanks split. In my 5 gallon, it seems to be doing fine. The 10 gallon tank is having issues. I put 1 on each side of the 10 gallon. One side is growing fine but the other isnt. One of the leafs are completely brown. Come to think of it when I first bought it that particular leaf was a little brown but now the whole leaf is brown. I am enclosing a pic. What should I do?
Looks like a normal melt or die off, I would pinch the leaf off and remove it.
Depending on how it was grown at the nursery emersed or submersed, the leave will die off or melt and new growth will emerge often the new growth will look different.
Swords are heavy root feeders and like a root tab now and again.
Just pinch the dead leaves off at the bottom of the stem. Oldfishlady hit the nail on the head on growth and normal die off. I remember panicking when I got my first amazon sword and saw it doing that. Definitely get some root tabs. The amazon sword will love you for it
