No, I don't have pictures. I'm sorry. But she built a HUGE bubble nest under the filter, and when I remove the sight barrier (a piece of paper) between her and one of my males, she IMMEDIATELY starts flaring at him like a male would. She doesn't flare straight on like a female. She turns to the side. Also, her "ovipositor" has gotten smaller. Yes, she gets "breeding bars", but makes can get that as a sign of submission. I guess I'll see what happens as "she" gets older. Also, she built some smaller nests under leaves of her plants.
I'm not sure I know what that means... lol. They're kind of short, but she is the size of a Juvie male. Not to the point where their fins start getting longer.
Caroline builds little bubble nests sometimes, so that's now always a giveaway that the betta's male. :d she also monster flares at Lulu. x3 what color is she? sometimes, you gotta resort to a flashlight on the other side and looking for an egg sac. :d
It is not unusual at all for female bettas to build nests and put their own eggs into them. It happens all the time in my fish room. Some female bettas are just very eager to breed. If they are not bred, they can change from what I have seen.
Strange. Well, she's not being bred for sure. She's a VT from walmart. But her dark purple is SO pretty it's a shame that I can't breed her.
