Aquarium Salt, and Stress Coat. I personally don't like doing true medicines, unless I need to. Warm clean water seems to do the trick most of the time for sicknesses.
Oh, and garlic juice. I used to soak my fish pellets in pure garlic juice, because it gives the immune system a boost and acts like a parasite protector.... and apparently it increases appetite.
Wardleys Ick Away, aqaurium salt, Melafix (ALWAYS dillute it in water before use, never just pour the medicine in the tank without watering it down, anything with Fix at the end may kill a betta), Methylene Blue, Ampicillin, Jungle Ich Guard, IAL extract (definately needed IMO).
The actual medicines I keep on hand are Hikari Betta Revive, Bettafix, and Aquarisol. Aquarium salt is something you'll definitely want to keep on hand at all times.
