Hi folks, this is my first post here. I work full-time in the pet care department of a large national chain of pet stores, so I am around fish and other animals on a daily basis, and am responsible for their care.
I always try to fully educate customers on the needs of whatever pet they are getting, and bettas need special attention because most people do not think they need much space or care. I'm a sucker for Crowntails!
At the moment, I have 9 pets at home: 3 Guinea Pigs, 2 American Toads, 2 Robo Dwarf Hamsters, 1 Leopard Gecko, and 1 Crowntail Betta named Merlin, who I bought 7 months ago.
Initially, I had him in an Aqueon 2.5 Minibow, but last week I upgraded his tank to a Top Fin 5.5 gallon (used the old filter to get the new tank cycled, and created a baffle for the filter which was too strong.)
The water test I did today looks great. I just got him some new plants/ornaments to go with his new tank this afternoon.
