I have a solid dark blue betta. I noticed yesteday the long dangly fins under his chin area have turned bright red. Is this common, or is something wrong? I've had other bettas and this has never happened before...
any chance of pictures? bettas do change colour throughout their life, so it could just be a colour change, however was it a sudden change or has it slowly been happning? try get a photo incase it is something else. Good luck
It was a sudden change. We look at him all day long cuz his tank is by the kitchen sink. It's a pretty color and he's acting fine. This is our 3rd betta and none of the others have done this, lol...How do I post a photo if I can get one?
sometimes red on the fins is a sign of finrot. but its more than likely just him changing colors.. mine did. When i got him he was white and blue, now he has red on bottom fins too. =]
My betta, who is blue, did this also. He didn't do overnight, but his fins changed from blue to red. Now some of his fins are turning red too. What are you feeding him? Some foods have color enhancers that bring out the colors in your betta.
My fish is perfectly fine, at first I thought it was finrot, so I got bettafix, but it didn't do anything, and he seems to be fine, he always was.
I wouldn't worry about it. But putting a picture up would be a good idea.
