Fin curling is generally because of poor water conditions and if I'm reading your form correctly you have a 2 gallon that you only do one water change on and that would be your problem right there.

A 2 gallon needs two water changes a week, one 50% and one 100% so in order to stop his fins from curling you need to start doing that. It's also not guaranteed that they will straighten out again, generally once they are curled, they stay like that. Although I did have an instance where one of my boy's ventral curled and it straightened back out after a while.

Can you post your water parameters?? I believe high PH can cause that too.

I'll do more changes and see if it helps. Thank you!

I don't have a test kit right now but the last time I tested my raw tap the pH was 7.2, high range 7.4. The tannins extract would have softened it though, which IIRC is good for bettas.

It's not always bad. My HMDT started to get curled fins after he grew older. I never changed anything in the tank and the other bettas [divided tank] were fine. It could be that your betta is getting older.

I think that might be the case too. Glad to know there are others with this quirk. Thank you! :)
