Alrighty so i went to both petco and petsmart looking for ameno shrimp and neite snails.
nothing.
i did find assasins and mysteries.
also bamboo shrimp and ghoast shrimp.
The main point for these is that i try to clean the algae off but it just comes roght back and sticks to the plants.
My point is that i need sonething to eat it off the plants. i just dont thibk that the ghoast shrimp or mysteries would do that. or am o wrong?

Shrimp would help clean up debris which can cause extra nutrients, allowing algae to grow. There are other ways to compete with algae. You can keep the lights on for less long each day, or you can get some fast growing plants to compete with the algae. Make sure you don't over feed and that extra food doesn't sink to the bottom and that you are cleanin/siphoning the debris/fish poop/fallen food out of the tank often.

What kind of algae is it? Long and hairy? Short and soft? What colour?

Is your tank by a window? Sunlight can make algae grow like crazy.
More plants is always a good thing!

I went ahead and bought a blue mystery snail. Which turns out that he is green. not blue. but whatever lol. The algae seems to be a mix of brown and green. brown on the tanks and a bit on the plants. the green is also allitile on the plants. and i do mean just a little.
I have two 15 watt lightbulbs. i leave them on for 8hours a day. i think its because it was winter and its dark quickly and i just left them on. i think that leaving them on is whats causeing the algae bloom. cause ive never had this problem before. maybe a little slime but never algae.

Also i tried the pink "color enhancers" from petsmart and yeah. they turned my water pink. thats not natural.... anywho im returning those to the store today. miht try the blue ones but im thinking the same problem will occur. Blue water not just clear crisp lit water.

but i think if i leave the light off during the day and just urn it on at night then off before i go to hed that itll help the algae.

Get the 10 watt natural daylight flouresent bulbs. You'll be glad you did!

Buy you some liquid plant ferilizer at the pet store. You can also buy fertilizer spikes to put in the substrate nest to the pland roots. If you get your plants growing faster, there will be no nutrients left for the algae to grow. Also depending on the size of your tank, you can set up a diy CO2 charger. This really gets the plants growing!
