I got Tippi from Petco yesterday... A beautiful delta male. I've heard lines can be from stress, and he has a line horizontally across him slightly darker than the rest of him, but this could be his spine. [you can kind of see the line on my avatar]
That's not what I am worried about that much though. On where is tail starts, his skin is all red. Same with the top fin. [Dorsal fin?]
Maybe I am being paranoid or overprotective of my fish, but is this normal?
It may just be some coloring change, keep an eye on him, if he's young, and as days go on, some red color may be starting to show..if there are any other odd behaviours, like lack of interest in food, or erratic swimming, then I would worry..but for now if he is eating, and swimming ok, then he's fine
It's a series of nerves that run from the snout to the tail that help the fish navigate in the water. It's how a blind betta doesn't run into the glass - he uses his lateral line.
Holy bejeezus his is dark. My peachy fish has that too.
I always thought it was just his spine. Posted via Mobile Device
