so after upgrading my betta to a five galllon in which he loves it. i went to the petstore today and bought three neon tetras after letting them sit in the bag in the water i let them in the tank in which my betta didnt really acknowledge them one died tonight after acting wierd all day. my question is will tetras be happy with just two or should i get more.
You need at least 8 of them for em to securely school with each other. Your tank is too small for any fish except you can add some shrimp or a snail. I suggest returning the Tetras or upgrade to a bigger tank. Did you QT them at all?
You should always qt your fish no matter where they come from. Fish can bring in diseases and kill the ones you already have. There was a thread not long ago where someone threw an ADF into a tank without qt and now her betta is dead.
