I had 2 ghost shrimp in with my female Betta and they seemed fine together. A couple dad ago they both died which I thought was strange. I went and bought two more this afternoon and not even 4 hours later they are both dead. I didn't see her attacking them and I bought ones that were almost the same size as her so I thought they would be safe... Did she kill them or could there be something wrong with the tank? She seems fine still.
It's true. While ghosts are the hardiest of shrimp I've seen, they are still very sensitive to anything and everything, like ammonia, salt, chlorine....
And shrimp at big stores like petsmart and petco aren't usually in the best shape to begin with.
Even if they were fine for a while, once she tried one and realized she liked how it tasted, she might have developed an affinity for shrimp sushi
That's true. Just as we taste something, we like it and want more so when ever we have the chance we eat it.
