My poor Sun - she was the alpha of the 10-girl sorority. Until she got sick a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was a simple case of SBD - but she never got better dispite daily water changes with epsom salt treated water. She spent most of her time laying on leaves at the surface of the water. Only moved when I moved her tank a little to see if she was still alive.
This morning I found her at the bottom - her color already gone. I think she may have had an internal infection of some sort. She ate maybe 1-2 pellets while she was sick and never pooped :(
Sun was my first female betta death. I know her sorority girls miss her. I missed her getting to enjoy chasing around and bossing around those girls. Not many pictures of her that didn't come out blurry.
Its hard to get those girls to stay put for long and they usually have a friend or two in the pictures with them :)
So I posted an old photo that I put together months ago when i only had 5 girls. That top picture is crazy now to me- how much each girl has grown and developed their colors.
And a more recent one of Sun- before she got sick. RIP girl!
