Hello!

Hi, I'm new here. I was thinking that is was time to get another betta. It's been a couple of years since the unfortunate incident with Mr. Universe, apparently you can stop the signal. (Sorry, tactless joke. RIP Mr. Universe). I realize now that it was my own ignorance of fish keeping that probably killed him. That's how I ended up here, trying to educate myself for the greater good of fish kind. I have already learned a lot and expect to learn more from every thread I read. I hope to have my tank up and running in a few weeks if all goes according to plan. Thank you all for all the different opinions and stories. You've already helped me so much. So, wish me luck and keep posting all that useful information.

Hello and welcome to the forum

Have fun picking out your new fish buddy - you'll be fine this time around since you're doing all of the research now.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and the luck wished!

SparkyJoe: I'm so glad that someone got my obscure geek reference. It's always comforting to know that you havenít gone too far to the point of no one getting it. Haha! I'm glad that there are still a few of us Browncoats out there out there, we're becoming few and far between.

You've never been to Dragon*Con then, the Browncoats are alive and well from what I see there each year.

Hope your new fish does well!

Thank you, Oldfishlady. I will try to remember to post in the right place.

I have not been to DragonCon. I really want to, but I live kind of far away. I have bugging a friend to go with me to DragonCon, but we're too broke and it's usually the same week as the start of the semester, haha! And I can't afford to pay for my classes and to pay for the trip.

You know there they filmed the the first episode and parts of many others? That's my state, very rural Nevada. I've been to many of these places. They look more inviting in the show. lol

Yes, I can imagine that adding people like Nathan Fillion and Jewel Staite will spruce up most any locale

D*C has been going strong for like 20 years, hopefully it will still be around when your school days are done!

Have you brought home a new fish yet? Be careful! I started with 2 - one for each child...and somehow we now have 4. It's addictive, and you can't look at those poor guys in the little cups without wishing you could somehow give em all a home!
