Cool Question on fin regrowth

What should i use for fin regrowth? I have done some research but can't seem to come up with anything. Some people say yes to Melafix and other's say it'll kill them. I am kinda new at this and just need some advice so i don't accidently do something wrong

There is no medication that will stimulate fin regrowth. You just have to keep your betta warm and give him or her a high-quality food like New Life Spectum or Omega One.

Often the best medication and treatment for fin issues...Is fresh like temp dechlorinated water from water changes, tannins, good nutrition and patience......

First you have to find the cause of the damage and remove that before healing can begin.

Fin re-growth can vary based on-age, genetics, fin damage cause, amount, severity of rot, overall health, how and timeliness of treatment and nutrition.

Often with some damage the fins will never return to their full glory, sometimes the new growth will look different and even a different color.

It can take weeks to months for the fin to re-grow-usually you will see white or clear fin edges as the first sign of new growth.

Good nutrition is a big factor in overall health, fin healing and re-growth

Good quality varied diet fed in small frequent meals and if you have access to mosquito larva offer several rinsed for one meal a day to boost protein intake to promote healing.

Ok thanks :) I did remove a plant that i thought could possibly be the problem, and he dosen't seem to be getting worse. And his water stays at 78-80. And i'll look for mosquito larva, i feed him blood worms and was going to see if he liked brine shrimp or something. Thanks again for replying :)

Also, i do 100% water changes once a week, with a 50% change. Should i do more frequent water changes? And i have been putting a little aquarium salt in his water, is that nessacery or not?

salts not necessary unless he is sick. :) sometimes it can do more harm than good and it won't promote fin healing.

You don't have to look too hard for mosquito larvae! Most people are trying to get rid of it. If it is warm enough around your house, just put a small bowl of water outside. In a few days you will see wrigglers in it. Those are your mosquito larvae (you can look up pictures online if you aren't sure). I use a small dropper to remove them and feed them to my betta.

Agree on not needing the salt. I only use it with cases that can't be cured with daily water changes.

oh okay. well it's been in the low 60's with rain here, but i'll look it up online and see what they look like, for when it get's warmer :). And yeah i wasn't sure if he was getting fin rot, that's why i was treating him with that, but thankfully it wasn't :)
