It's cool to see little kids excited about learning stuff.

Little kids are just the cutest :))
My brother is about that age. I must have taught him well about bettas because he went up to an employee at petsmart saying "Don't stack the cups...the bettas need air, too". The lady said she would tell all the employees.

Aww. You're never too young to learn. These kids might be future bettafish members. Lol

It is because pet stores don't look for knowledgeable pet owners, they look for sales people. It is much easier to make money when your employees are ignorant towards what they are selling. In fact I went to the very same petco about a week ago and saw that one of their Oscars had ich, so I told them "your Oscar isn't looking too good" and the employee's responce to me was tha he was just lonely, that really made my blood boil. They also had their quarentined neons in with their live plants. The conditons made me never want to buy their fish.

I even headed to walmart and they had better fish. Quite sad.

I was hoping to get hired by my Petsmart but they never called. I was in there the other day and I saw the manager in his office and there was a girl in there that was probably being interviewed. Maybe I'm overqualified because I have a degree. Lol

I also hate it when a employee looks at a tank with dead fish, and keeps walking. My bestie is looking for head and light tetras and she refuses to buy from any store with dead fish . . . she wanted them about 2 months ago. I love her, I will buy fish from a store with pretty much no dead fish and healthy ones. The main I judge is how freindly the employees are. I dont like store that make you climb a step stool when you are eight to get a dwarf hamster. I hate Pet Cetera.

Zergy, if he was lonely (if Oscars feel that way) why not get him a buddy.

I'll tell you why they didn't give that Oscar a buddy, it's because they already had that tank overstocked with Chinese algae eaters.

I understand if you don't want be told how to do your job but when you're infecting fish and are still willing to sell them is when I draw the line.

Poor Oscar (time to start begging about needing another tank, lol), probably has no slime coat left.
I can understand if they would get annoyed, as it is there job, but they can still be polite about it. I was at Petland (or Abuse Land, as my friend calls it) at there was a HUGE male betta in the female betta tank. The famles were tiny! I told guy and this is what he said. 'That explains the empty bowl'. My mom knows I can, express, my feelings if I'm not in a good mood. I was so mad my LFS had fruit tetras I wanted to say something and she just told not to worry. I was ticked off a fair bit though
