Jumping Fish


So my betta just jumped in its tank. the lid was off and i saw it happen. so I'm kinda worried now. is he gonna keep doing that? should i be worried? is that a sign for something? let me know..

I would just keep a lid on. My guys jump around at night too, I can hear them.

Right now the best thing you can do for him is to make sure his water is warm and leave him be. That was a pretty traumatic experience for him. If you like, you can also turn his light off early. Both of my boys that jumped looked rather dazed right after it happened, but they recovered in time. Time and warm water are the best things you can give him.

Bettas are jumpers. First time I saw a betta jump I screamed. The second time it happend I was cursing at him while getting him back into the tank xD
