"I randomly came across your Betta Fish Reality video on YouTube. Crying as I write this, I wanted to let you know how inspired I am by your organization. Today I went to Petco to buy some additional supplies for my betta. I was completely appalled at the number of sick, dead, or dying bettas they had for sale, wasting away in their own filth in teeny tiny cups barely halfway full of water. Tomorrow, I will be returning to the store and marching my behind straight to the manager to file an official complaint and give those poor bettas a voice. Your organization has given me the courage to do so. Thank you."

awwwws. I think were going to be starting a small mob here soon enough. On facebook there is betta awareness day page declaring the 21st of june to be betta awareness day :)

Yeah for me it's nothing big what I do, but I guess it is enough for people to take note =D I'm approached at work or walking down the road by people who recognize me as "that betta person" they completely ignore the store's advice now! Kinda makes me feel good lol. I have to make more brochures/posters x.x I ran out!

lol nice! I'm known as the animal person to anyone who knows me. I've had a wealth of animals throughout childhood. In fact at the moment I have all my fishies, a snake, a bird and then we're thinking about a rabbit :)

I never grew up with animals... One cat, that's it. Mom said NO fish NO birds NO rodents NO dogs NO other cats One day, after we moved to Camrose and I had a job, I went out and bought a fish and a 0.5 gallon (I was 13? lol) came home and she stopped complaining. She actually started to like my fish, and couldn't believe the darn betta (Mister) wouldn't die!! But since then I've owned betta fish. Never been a year without one

And I agree it is time for a change. I made change in my town with a handful of people - I've been thinking... it isn't illegal to leave brochures or pamphlets in mail boxes....

my video inspired a betta fish rescue in NY that now has a branch over in Texas. i have people messaging me on youtube, asking my help. i have people commenting about how my video inspired them to upgrade their bettas, and i often have people asking what other fish can live with their video...
