Half Moon being lethargic and hiding all of a sudden?

I have him in a 2.5 gallon tank, waters at 77~ degrees, and do 50% water changes twice a week and once or twice a week 100%. I used a few drops of prime for 50% changes and a few of stress coat. I just did a change and he is hiding a lot, and being lethargic. All his tail and fin looks fine, and so does his color. Could this be due to too much water conditioner? He also has his fins clamped.

could be a disease ich that hasn't developed enough yet to be visible. upping the temperature slowly should help if it is parasites (to around 82F).

I've never heard of overdosing on water conditioner, but I wouldn't rule it out since prime is more concentrated, but I've used other water conditioners at around 400% recommended dosage without any problems.

And... are you sure he is not just sleeping/napping? 1 Hour is a bit short to determine much. but if you are really concerned, try a water change. It is definitely your immediate solution.

edit: and you mentioned that you *just* did a water change, was the temperature and parameters the same? that could be the cause as well

Well for bettas it usually doesn't matter how much water you change, be it 10% or 100%. The important thing is temperature and PH. even though you have a heater, it will take time to warm water that is colder. did you use your usual water? was it likely you put water in the tank that is more than a few degrees off the usual? Is the PH very different? things like that. For now I will just slowly raise the temperature to 80, add tannins if you can, turn off the lights and see if it helps.

Another thing to note would be whether you used any chemicals(soap, sprays etc) while cleaning or around the tank.

Too many possibilities, sorry.
