Question Are bettas sensitive to calcium?

I want to raise the calcium by adding a conch shell but i heard a long time ago they leach calcium and it will affect bettas. I like the calcium part (duh) but will it kill Pog?

calcium hardens the water, which may or may not affect the betta depending how hard your water is already.

moderate, not hard, not soft.. ok a bit on the hard side... but i need the calcium for my snail.

will it raise the ph? if so, that is good, same as buffering capability (KH) and calcium
