sick betta.

video available here :

http://youtu.be/G77UjIcromI

i bought this fish very recently, and with it i boguht 2 bottom feaders.

they died during the night., i am not sure if they died from the stress of a new tank, or if whatever desies they had, the betta has now caught it.

i suspect it being fin roth, so 2 days ago it applied a dosage of anti fugus and finrot (interpet)

but as you can see there is no improvement, i know i need to wait a week, to see if there is any changes,

but i thought of writing a post just in case somone suspects him having somthing els.

i am sure not to buy from that store again.

You did acclimate them right? They could go in shock if you didn't...

Hmmm... Did they look sick in the shop? Oh, and is the Filter's current high?
He might be stressed because of that. Otherwise, I don't know. Sorry.

so u dont think its fin rot? the water flow inst to strong. i had another betta in this tank before, it didn't have problems. if its stress, maybe i could look into getting more plants, so it has more where to hide. i'll see.

the bottom feeders looked fine, or i wouldn't have gotten them. but as i said, they died overnight.

He's got a fungus growth for sure! See all the fuzzies on his tail? It's highly treatable with a fungal treatment. I use a mixture of aq salt (dosed for healing fins) stress coat (dosed for healing fins) and then Indian Almond Leaf (optional but dried and cleaned oak leaves will work as a substitute). As for seeing results my boy Dizz took about 4 days before he started to look better, and then another 5 or 6 days before it was completely gone. This poor fella has a bit more advanced case. It might take two weeks before its gone.

On a side note, if its just your betta in there I would kill the filter. It's not needed for this guy and some still water might make him a bit calmer. But he does look strong, for his shape. poor boy probably itches too. Pretty VT though. I hope he makes it. Does he have a name?
