culturing your own blood worms for conditioning and for older fry

I do not know how many are actually doing this, but I currently have a bucket full of clean water (and some dog poop for food), and have had great success in getting my own blood worms for my fish. Mosquitos are crazy in my yard, so i found it quite easy, and then I just use an old fish net and dip it into the water and let it sit for a minute, and then pull it up, and usually pull out quite a few, I am currently putting them in a container in my fridge, BUT plan to freeze my own to save :) Just wanted to let others know, its really easy to get your own blood worms, if there are mosquitos in your area (which is highly likely) then you can get your own instead of buying, or atleast cutting down on how much you have to buy.

Dead leave n grass work better
To slow of a culture to be playing
5 minute of work just to feed 2 to 5 is not worth it
Work smarter not harder(that what my buddy told me about the blood worm)

CFB, it's not necessarily true.... last year I set up my own 'culture' of mosquito larve outside in a small bucket. Because it was a small ammount of water, the larvae became really concentrated, and I just had to use a net once to scoop out enough to make a meal for all four of my boys.

As for bloodworms, I haven't had any of those... Midges didn't seem to like the bucket XD

If u have water n dead leave on the bottom u will have them
Ive harvest the mosquito larvea the same time I as the daphnia
