New female... no idea what happened...

I had 5 minutes in the store, helping my parent pick out dog food, and of course I had to look at the bettas. Saw the tiny baby bettas and decided I wasn't walking out of there without one, but they were all so sick looking that I didn't think they would survive the ride home. I literally had $3 with me so I went to look at the female bettas. There was this pale mint green/blue female that immediately caught my attention. But I didn't catch hers. She ignored me completely, so I looked at the one above her on the shelf. This girl was extremely pale, she had vertical stress stripes and was not looking good. But when I put my finger up to her cup, she focused on it and started following it. Then she looked out past my finger at my face, and I was done for. Walked out with her in one hand and $.13 in my pocket.
I setup the only spare tank I had, a half gallon. Took out the gravel so there's only her and a small silk plant. She has colored up nicely, she's a pretty aqua blue. I really like her. Need name suggestions. She is barely an inch long at the moment.
I am upgrading the tank as soon as I get some allowance. :) <3
Hope you enjoy.

Thanks! She's getting stressed again, I put a different plant in and covered her tank with a towel, hoping she'll calm down. If not, maybe there is something wrong with the water, so I'll reacclimate her later.
I love those names! Sky is really pretty. :) I like Crescent too for some reason. Haha! :)
Thanks! It was interesting. I just would feel so terrible if I left her there.

She's adorable! I think the name Indigo would be good.

Vertical stripes (up and down) don't indicate stress. They use them to communicate dominance/submission to other females, and readiness to mate to males. Horizontal (side to side, like the horizon) indicate stress.

She looks very pretty. I'm sure she will be very excited about all the space and warmth when you upgrade! :) If only it was possible to heat the tank she is in - she's so tiny that it looks like the right size for her!

betta lover1507 - Thanks! i love greek names. :)
bombularina - I am so sorry! I did mean horizontal. Oops! Haha. Thanks very much! Hoping to get possibly a 2 gallon tank or so with a filter, light, heater, the whole thing. But only when she's bigger! Haha she is very small.

She's beautiful and I love her color. I would call her Wave.

Lenimph - thanks so much! And Wave is a cute name too. :)
I got her to eat one small freeze dried bloodworm, the pellets are too big as of right now. But she's doing okay so far! Still active. colors still kinda pale but she was literally gray when I got her so she's doing much better.
More pics coming soon.
