My betta has been changing colors over the course of 2 months?

At first i thought it was ammonia burn because very slowly ( the tank's ammonia is zero now) his fins started to get black streaks and then his yellow color was still there but his scales were all scattered, some black but mostly yellow. I have had him for over a year. He is SUPER active, eating great ( has been since i got him) and has just recovered fantastically from a torn fin. Is it normal for betta to change colors as they age? Am i gonna end up with a "bumblebee betta" lol?


There are no signs of disease at all.

If ammonia is zero, his gills are not red or inflamed, he isn't showing any signs of rot and his behaviour is normal then yep, you have a bumble-betta. :p Pictures?

sounds like you have a marble on your hands. :V they change colors, some subtly, some drastically. :B
