My fish "Pacqui"

Hi all,

I'm new to the site and I wanted to share pics of my fish named "Pacqui" (named by my daughter- it's her fish). I thought it was fitting to call him Pacqui, short for Pacquiao (the boxer) since betta are fighting fish!

I also wanted to give a big THANK YOU! to this site and all the members. This is my first day of really posting, but I have been reading/learning from this site since last month when we bought Pacqui. I had no idea what I was doing and this site seriously schooled me! I now have a happy fish in a 5gal, heated, filtered tank w/ some water wisteria, anubia and java ferns.

At first I didn't even want to buy her a fish but she wanted one so badly so I caved but now, I am so into it! I am having so much fun and now I am tempted to get out my 10gal and divide it and get a couple more betta!

What a pretty boy! The one my son picked has similar coloration, though not quite as vibrant.

You feel the itch too! We started off two - one for each of my kids (They had gotten 2.5 gallon tanks and frogs for Christmas. A few months later, they had...tanks) We have 4 bettas now.

Might as well start getting that 10G set up

Thank you everyone! Everyone here is so friendly and supportive, I love it!

Yes, I am definitely feeling the itch! His personality is so great, too. I never knew fish could interact with you like these guys. He gets very excited when we come up to his tank and it's like he's saying Hi to us. He will also follow our finger all over and of course flare. He also jumps out of the water and gets his food off of a soft baby spoon. My daughter gets quite the kick out of that!

They are beautiful + great personalities= addictive!

I feel this forum just makes us all more betta crazy, we're all just supporting each others "betta bug." :)

Is your java fern buried in the gravel? Just a heads up, this rots their roots, they need to be floating (or tied down to something). :)

I have the java fern just sitting on top of the gravel. Nothing is buried it just stays there without needing to be tied down. I'm not sure how/why? That should be okay, right?

Thanks, Enkil. I see you are a fellow PNW'er! Are you enjoying this awesome weather we're having?

Oh, okay that's fine. Yea, sometimes it floats sometimes it sinks, it's odd. :D
