Dwarf cories?

So, if I keep Vilkas in his 10 gallon, I might want to get him some buddies.
My grandma really wants a REASON to have 10 gallons, so Vilkas alone isn't "enough," but she wont but a six gallon for him so... tank mates?

I've read up on pygmy cories and I think they might be a good match. My water is slightly on the hard side, sometimes harder. I'd change my gravel to sand for and probably plant the tank. I do have two ghost shrimp in there now.

Does anyone know where to get dwarf cories, and if my tank could work for them? (Probably a group of five)

I think Dwarf Corydoras would be fine!
If you want any others, you could have some Neon Tetras. Or any none aggressive, Tropical Schooling fish.

Pygmy Cories are hard to come by, I'm lucky and they're common at my LFS. :)

10 gallons can easily house Pygmy Cories. You want a group of 6 minimum, if you plant the tank you may even be able to get 8 or 10 depending on how heavily you plant it, the more plants the more ammonia, nitrItes and nitrAtes get sucked up. Pygmy Cories can live in hard water, maximum for them is 15dH, and that's quite hard water.

I'm confused- how can your water be harder sometimes than other times? It should always be steady coming from your tap.

My water differs because my tap in the kitchen run different from my bathroom sometimes, I'm not sure exactly why.

And hopefully I'll get six of them or more, because we have a Petco and a Petsmart but they NEVER have pygmy cories. We also have a Kahoots though, so I might go check there and if they have some, I'd be able to go get the sand and plants and get the cories this summer.

Good to know they'll be able to live in my tank!

I'd choose one tap and stick to it. You can get away with it for bettas, but cories should have stable parameters.

Oh, I wasn't sure if anyone else had them, we have quite a few. Kahoots is a pet store here, and they have a TON of stuff, especially for fish. They have a better fish selection than my Petco, and even carry turtles and bunnies and TONS of birds.
