Did I mess up putying sand in there?

I am worried about the sand I put in my new tank. It is the sand you get from Petsmart and it is called cartibean sand. I asked the fish attendant and she said it would be find tor Bettas. He's not in there yet but the tank is set up. Fir I seriously mess this up already?!?!?

Carribean Live Sand is what it is. If I really messed up, noe what do I do. My tank is running and waiting tor my fish. I am kind of panicking.

well aragonite and beach sand(assuming cartibean sand is from Caribbean) would raise the ph and water hardness.

which wouldn't be very good for a blackwater fish like betta.( great if it was African chicids )

Betta can tolerate it as they are quiet adaptable , but it is better to use normal silica sand.

just use a siphon hose and suck the sand out into a bucket.

I found Carribsea sand horrid. The easiest way to clean it out is to drain the water and let it dry. Not an option in most cases however.

LIVE SAND, if you are sure that's what it is, is for saltwater tanks. It's live because it's filled with microorganisms that provide filtration in a saltwater tank. It will also raise pH and hardness...

I should have known better trusting the attendant in the fish department. Of course she said it was no problem. Now I have to figure out how to get it all out of there and buy new gravel. Can I make a siphon somehow. I am so irritated that I tried to do something different than I did in the past and it has messed me up. Gah!

Edited to add: I did not put my fish in there so I can completely drain the tank but I am looking for the best method. It is a three gallon tank and freshly set up.
