for us to help you, you need to tell us about the conditions and set up of your tank.

The best thing to do now would be to do a 20 to 50% water change encase it is an ammonia poisoning, or do a copper or formalin dip encase it is caused by a bacterial/ fungus infection.

can't really tell you much without you giving us more info.

From what i can see and the 2 months experience i've had maybe he's just a tad constipated? I say this cause my boy was clamping and sulking and after a day of fasting and one giant deposit he was back to his normal self... mind you if yours is not eating i'm not sure, does he live with any plants? i'm not sure why there would be nitrate in the water with a change yesterday. maybe that is affecting him. I'm sorry i can't help more

Looks like the tank is cycled since it's 4 gallons, has a filter, and the OP does only partial water changes weekly. For a cycled tank the water parameters seem just fine- no ammonia or nitrite and nitrates seem ok, although they could be a little lower. Since you are doing such large water changes each week I'm going to assume that you have some nitrates coming out of the tap.

Is the heater definitely still working? I had one actually blow out in my tank once and there was obviously something leeching into the water that was affecting my fish as I noticed they were acting lethargic. That's when I realized that part of the glass heater housing was actually sitting on the gravel...truly you could hardly tell by just looking at it. Just something I thought of. In any event I'd check all your equipment to rule out some sort of malfuction. Then maybe try to get a pic of your fish...maybe someone on here will be able to notice something that may have been overlooked. Good luck!

Heaters working ok, well he seems to have perked up a bit, swimming round now and has eaten a couple of pellets. Its really strange but earlier i removed a new plant id bought (plastic) which i put in yesterday to give him more room to swim in case he was having problems. Whether its coincidence or not after that he seemed better maybe he didnt take to the plant lol. Still worried about him but his appearance seems ok hes swimming and eating, not much else i can do at the moment, earlier i was convinced he was dying never seen him like that before i was so upset, i hope he will be ok
