The tank you have now is the first tank I got for my first betta. :D I have to admit it is an attractive tank.

It has spiderweb cracks where the light connects to the plastic and i'm afraid to use mine now. :(

Does anyone know if that kind of cracking, stress cracks about the circumference of a quarter, will make the tank start leaking if I fill it with water? If it's 100% safe to use I will, but otherwise I really don't want to take the chance.

I got some of the all of the plants except the fake anacharis at Petsmart. The fake anacharis came from a local store. The pineapple came from Walmart. The terracotta pots came from a local greenhouse that I frequent for my gardening needs.

I would go so far as to guess you were tightening the clamp too tight. I tightened mine so it just touches the glass, and no more.

Yes, Gandalf is living there. In the picture of just his tank he is on the right side between the filter and the glass.

There is a clear lid that fits on top. I will get a picture and post it for you.

Here ya go. Gandalf was curious as to what I was doing. That big feeding hole in front is covered when we are not around to supervise.
