Permanent Copper?

I know that one of the signs of Velvet is a copper color on the betta.

At one point (around February when I had the ick scare), I read about velvet and noticed that Buddha had that copper color on him! It was only on one gill, but it was copper alright. I freaked out, because I knew that the copper had been on him since I got him.

Well, it's been 4 months, and the little guy still has a patch of copper on his gill.

There's nothing wrong with a little patch of copper, correct? It has never grown bigger or smaller, it's just...been there. o.O

When you shine a flash light on the fish it looks like it was rolled in a fine yellow powder. It defiantely looks like fine sand. The fins also get a glued together look. The fish may carry some copper coloring in the scales and that is not a problem. Coper color is different than the velvet.. and depending on the fishes color it may not even look yellow.
