The "Canada Arm" Robotic arm aboard the ISS (International Space Station) has successfully captured the Private Venture SpaceX Cargo Vessel. Today marks the first time a private venture spacecraft has ever been docked to the ISS.
The craft is currently being brought in to make contact with the ISS, once docking is complete, for the first time the USA will again, since the retirement of the Shuttle fleet, have a homegrown way of getting to the ISS. Currently there is no manned craft but the SpaceX project team have been given permission to develop a crew resupply vessel.
